I Did It!
A drum roll and a little bit of pomp and circumstance, please...!
I have received official word that my thesis has passed the scrutiny of the academic committee and I have graduated with my M.F.A. in Professional Writing! This journey, which has taken the better part of the last three years and much sacrafice and patience from my family and friends, has culminated in a collection of twenty-three essays about my life as a 21st century working mother.
I will be reading selected essays at the Western Connecticut State University Winter Literary Festival on Friday evening, January 4th at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Westside Campus Center Grand Ballroom on WestConn's Westside campus in Danbury, Connecticut. I am honored to be featured along with my M.F.A. colleague Ron Samul, a truly gifted writer who will be reading from his thesis, a novel. Ron is also the founder and publisher of Miranda Literary Magazine.
