Apps! Apps! Apps! All I ever hear about are Apps!
I consider myself pretty tech savvy; but I also consider myself efficient and streamlined, meaning I don't get into all these techie things just for the sake of saying I use the latest trendy offering or be the first to try something new (I rarely, for example, will go through the stress of making it to opening day of a play, movie or event...a week later is fine with me, thank you.)
However, I've learned to pay closer attention to these Apps and websites that are becoming a way of life, especially those that can make MY life easier. Enter Goby! An app that can help plan my family's travel, whether in my own state or across the country? A website I can head straight to that gives me the info I want without a lot of searching? Why would I need THAT!? I can easily Google or Bing or type in as many key words as my heart desires.
But I checked it out. And guess what? This App is hAPPening! Since summer vacation is around the corner and I love to figure out local things to do, I decided to see what Goby could tell me about my neck of the woods, New Haven County, Connecticut. Wow! Bike trails I never heard of...places to kayak and canoe....skate parks....beaches.
What was cool was how EASY it was to use! Easy to follow categories helped pinpoint destinations, types of activities, and dates. The screen is easy to read. One of my frustrations when searching the web is the long lists of links you get followed by the trial by error process or clicking and reading through to see if it's applicable to what you're looking for. With Goby I get a well organized list that I can read through easily and determine quickly whether the event or activity is of interest or not.
