Nearly five years ago I "pressed pause" and made some big changes in my life. I left a company I'd been with for nearly a decade. I went back to graduate school for my M.F.A. in Professional Writing. I faced the joys and challenges of raising two beautiful and very young children while figuring out my life.
Nearly three years ago I "pressed pause" and embarked on what I like to call a "self-imposed sabbatical." After graduating with my degree I pursued my writing career, established a communications consultancy, founded a program that empowers women to succeed, and...
Wait! Press pause...
I really shouldn't be sharing all of this here because it's in the book, Press Pause Moments: Essays about Life Transitions by Women Writers. My story is among many written by talented women about the life transitions they've experienced either by choice or by circumstance. The anthology itself was a life transition for me. From the catalyst for creating the book to the personal challenges I have faced through its development and release, the story behind the book is in itself a story of faith, resilience, belief in self, and taking a risk to pursue a dream or goal.
Through this blog I hope to share some of the stories behind the book; provide you with insights into the process of its creation; share interviews with the writers; provide "sneak peaks" and excerpts into the writings; and perhaps in the process inspire you to "press pause" in your life and think about how to reinvent yourself or simply move forward with a "maybe someday" goal or dream you've wanted to pursue.
The book is available for a limited time as a pre-order through this site. Your order will be fulfilled as soon as the book is released. Just click below to place your order.
